Overview
We were in charge of refreshing the visual identity and overall creative direction for the 7th edition of TOKYO CREATIVE SALON.
TOKYO CREATIVE SALON is one of Japan’s largest creative festivals, launched in 2020 with the aim of showcasing Tokyo’s creativity to the world. The 2026 theme, “FUTURE VINTAGE — Carrying the past into the future through new creation,” was born from a desire to honour the diverse expressions that shape the city of Tokyo and the time and thoughts behind them.
The visual system was designed to embody diverse forms of creativity. The main logo, inspired by the motif of cherry blossoms, represents each area as an individual petal, which together form a collective image of the city. Rather than a temporary mark, the logo was conceived as a lasting emblem—one that can be inherited over time. It is intended to serve as a symbolic icon of both the city and its creative spirit.

Where Memory Shapes the Future
Architecture, fashion, music, design, art, advertising. Layers of traces left by creators overlap and accumulate, and the city exists today as a living archive of memory.
The theme of Tokyo Creative Salon 2026, “FUTURE VINTAGE,” was born from a desire to engage with respect and curiosity toward the diverse expressions that shape the city of Tokyo, as well as the time and intentions behind them.
FUTURE VINTAGE is an approach to creation that inherits the essence of styles and cultures emblematic of their eras, while fusing them with contemporary perspectives and technologies—giving rise to new expressions that may one day be cherished as “vintage of the future.”
The past is not something to be merely remembered with nostalgia. It is a starting point for what comes next, and a source of creative material. What do we choose to carry forward from the past, and what do we leave behind for the future?
Now is the moment to reexamine the essence of creativity itself, and to pass its value forward—across generations, and into the future.
