Overview

We were in charge of concept development and art direction for a Tokyo exhibition of Jean Paul Gaultier. Titled as “Expanding Fashion by Jean Paul Gaultier”, it focused on his unwavering passion in fashion and expanding creativity into other artistic fields.

The idea behind the exhibition was to inspire visitors to explore the broader meanings that the word “fashion” carries today. To this end, we translated his creativity into food and space design to add to his haute couture collection on display. The exhibition took place in 2019 at a commercial space of Onward Holdings, a Japanese fashion company with a strong relationship with the French designer.
